- When you go to a garage complaining about suspension noise, what’s usually the first thing the mechanic does? They take the car for a drive… That’s what we do, we don’t lift the car. However, we can tell you if the suspension is weak or if you have a loose suspension link.
- If a suspension problem is found, the worst case scenario is assumed (in terms of fault and price)
- This can work to your advantage in the buying process as it can be used to negotiate the price of the vehicle.
- We do check the shocks for leaks, and for front wheel and all wheel drive cars, we check the CV join boots/ axle boots, and take a look at the overall suspension condition
- As for rust, even though we don’t lift the car, we do visually look at the undercarriage.
- Most cars are high enough to simply look under them. For cars that are low, we use mirrors and/or borescope camera to inspect the undercarriage for missing parts, rust, or scrapes. (Note: the rigor depends on the level of inspection)
